In Hebrew, the words for ‘still waters’ appear in Psalm 23:2 as ‘Mai Menochot’, meaning literally, ‘restful waters.’ Our Shepherd wants to lead us all to a place of rest, a place of trust, a place of confidence, a place where you rely on Him and focus on Him without anything that will distract you.
Mental health issues are real, common and treatable. Recovery is possible. Still Waters brings help and hope to WDJC listeners through licensed, professional Christian counseling offered in person or online. Life can be hard. We may feel overwhelmed, worried, or low on hope. God loves you and wants to meet you in that place of hurting. Still Waters uses the very best tools in behavioral science combined with God’s holy Word to help rediscover who we are and the path we were made to take.
Scripture and science agree that our minds can be a battlefield. Struggling or needing help does not make you a “bad Christian.” Over time we can develop faulty thought patterns, unhealthy mental habits, and unsound beliefs. We may need help to become grounded in the Truth that, “We are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” (Ephesians 2:10). No one else can do what God made you specifically to do. Still Waters wants to help you rediscover the person you were made to be. Romans 8 verse 31 reminds us that “God is for us” and verse 37 tells us that we are more than conquerors! Battles in our mind, our body, our relationships, our circumstances will occur in this world. With proven therapeutic strategies that work and with God on our team we can go forward in confidence and with overflowing hope. When we discover the ways our thoughts and behaviors undermine our progress, we can move toward health and away from habit.
Still Waters accepts insurance and it’s likely that your health insurance will cover payment for your services in full or in part. We strongly recommend that you familiarize yourself with your insurance policy’s benefits. We are happy to check the specifics of your policy.
It’s okay to not be okay. You are not a let down to God. In fact, He wants to minister to you through your hurt.
