Russell P. Wall

It was while growing up in Stone Mountain, Ga., that Russell P fell in love with radio as a way to connect with his dad, who was an avid listener. A graduate of the University of Georgia, Russell P has now been a radio broadcaster for 20 years. From Christian music to soft rock, from news talk to sports talk, he has done it all.

Russell P first came to Crawford Broadcasting in 2008, and he as enjoyed working alongside some of the best radio talent in Birmingham. Now in 2020, Russell P is happy to partner with Jessica for a new show called A Closer Look with Russell P & Jessica, weekday afternoons 2:00-7:00 p.m.

Although Russell P has been involved in Christian ministry ranging from youth to college to working in a retirement living community, radio always brings him back. “What I love about radio is the opportunity to make a positive impact on a great number of lives each day,” he says. “If I can put a smile on someone’s face as they drive home, then I’ve done my job,”

A Closer Look is a unique opportunity for Russell P to combine his love for God and his concern for people in a helpful, cheerful, edifying way. “I love that I can share my weaknesses and challenges on the air and people can relate to that,” he says. “I want to connect with our listeners, even if we never meet face-to-face and talk about how we can all be better individuals.”

A self-proclaimed minimalist whom you will almost always find in a black T-shirt, Russell P enjoys spending time with his twins, Charlie and Sarah, going to movies, playing tennis and basketball, going on walks and enjoying the latest in auto innovations.
