Jessica Borklund
Jessica Borklund never thought her path would lead into a career in radio. A stay at home mom for over 10 years, her days were filled with homework, housework and adventure with her two children, Landen and McKaylee. But her world came crashing down when her daughter, McKaylee, was diagnosed with an aggressive form of malignant brain cancer at just 7 months old, a diagnosis that carried with it a 5 year survival rate. However, after a year of treatment at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and millions of prayers from friends and family, McKaylee has beat the odds and will soon celebrate her 13th birthday. Walking this journey through cancer with both of her kids has given Jessica a unique perspective in life and has radically impacted her faith in Christ and His power to do the impossible.
Having spent 4 years as on air personality in political talk radio on one of our sister stations, Jessica is excited to join the team on WDJC. “I think God allowed me and my family to walk through some really difficult things in life to showcase His glory, His strength and His sustaining grace.” she said, “Now He’s given me this platform in radio to share the incredible things He’s done in my life to hopefully impact others for Christ”.
