I started in college radio in 1990 in Jacksonville, AL. After a year, I received a job offer at a local station doing weekends and being the color guy for Friday night football. After a year, I got the call to full-time doing Afternoon Drive. I had to get permission from the professors to leave class early to be on the air. They thought that was pretty cool.
From there, I worked in Gadsden, AL for a CHR; Birmingham, AL for an AC; Amarillo, TX for a CHR; Rome, GA for a Country; back to Birmingham for Classic Rock, and finally landed the job at WDJC in 2003.
How Faith comes alive for me
Sharing my faith on the air is one way that my faith comes to life. Also, sharing the faith of the artists and the scriptures that some of the songs are based on is another way that faith comes to life. Every song has a story behind it, and I love finding out what that story is and sharing it.
How I came to be a Chistian
I accepted Christ at the age of 8 years old at a church summer camp. The Pastor came to visit and gave an alter call. Two of my friends and I went down front and accepted Jesus as our Savior.
More about me
One of my hobbies is cooking BBQ. I have a twenty year old smoker that is just now seasoned well. 😉 My specialties are ribs and pulled pork. I have been a celebrity judge at several BBQ and chili competitions in Alabama, Texas and Georgia.
